An entity, event, or state of affairs that causes the Protagonist to expend the effort necessary to meet the pre-conditions for participating in the Activity. The installation was anything but a routine project from the beginning and everyone involved rose to the challenge because it was gratifying to be contributing in some way to the tsunami relief effort.
